Our story
KAAITA is a creative studio crafting the most sustainable and chillax hotel slippers and accessories.
Designed for charming hotels across Europe, our slippers are loved and worn by fans worldwide. Hotel guests wear them for about one-third of their stay, making them a close companion.
With unique designs, certified sustainable materials, and innovative concepts, we focus on minimising waste while maximising the guest experience. Our products can be washed, reused, and cherished—they're never just a sad pile of waste.
Based in Ljubljana, our creative studio and boutique in-house manufacturing ensure that our business operates as a force for good, that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, and that younger generations have a hub to develop their craftsmanship skills.
We source our cosy materials from sustainability-minded partners in Italy.

CHILLAX
In a world always on the move, we’ve created a brand to inspire you to take off your shoes, unwind, and relax.
KAAITA is led by Alenka Repic. Economist by profession, but bored to death by the classical economic models and phrases like competitive race, open capital market and battle for customers, Alenka passionately believes that we all could be winners. That nature and environment are important business partners, and that there is no greater machine than positively fired-up brain matter, paired with the skillful fingers of a craftsman.
Cherry Picked from the Press
Alenka Repic is the founder of Kaaita, a Slovenian company that has placed its footwear in dozens of hotels across the world. Trained as an economist, Repic launched Kaaita in 2004 as a creative consultancy helping other companies on environmental issues. Over the years, the company has transformed into a boutique manufacturer making sustainable slippers. For this week’s programme, Guy De Launey went to Kaaita’s headquarters in Ljubljana.
